I was a farmer/grazier for 30 years after leaving school, so have a natural empathy with wine growers as primary producers.

I enjoyed wine all my life, but became fascinated about 20 years ago having spent a weekend at Dookie at a wine appreciation course. I've since completed several wine appreciation courses around Melbourne, including one at AC, and countless tastings.

On leaving farming I worked at Dan Murphys for 5 years as a Fine Wine Manager, mainly at Prahran when I encountered Phil at various functions, so after 5 years in my own small business, a phone call was all it took for me to join the staff at AC.

Food and wine are among my main interests in life, fortunately interests shared by my wife Bernie. We have visited wineries all over Australia, France and Italy, and have many more to visit.

Favourite regions include Alsace, Champagne, Tuscany, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Tasmania and Mornington Peninsula, and favourite wines are Riesling, sparkling and savoury European style reds.
