Armadale Cellars Launches New Website
September 2008, Armadale Cellars long awaited web 2.0 site launches
Web 2.0 - a new version of the web that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and collaboration among users was chosen as the appropriate channel for the new site, so as to help maintain Armadale Cellars' focus of providing an educational experience. Whilst the new site will still promote upcoming courses and events, new site features, like polls, guest forums, and a wine blog improve the experience for the customer. Many areas of the site are open to the general public, but some areas of the site will be 'member only' areas, such as the interactive elements and the food and wine matching sections. Membership is free, but you must sign up to gain access.
Along with the new interactive elements, the team has also been busily preparing their 2000+ wines to be added for an e-commerce experience, with aims to have that portion of the site live by mid to late October.
"It's been a longer process that hoped for", states Ann Marie Johnston, Marketing Manager, "but we wanted to do it right, we wanted to make sure that the new site really offers the customers a lot of value". She continues, "We want to create that dialogue with our customers, and make sure that our marketing efforts are market lead.. what the customers want. There are still a number of areas that we want to add further to, such as our Food and Wine matching session, the wine regions themselves, as well as having an area specifically tied to individual wineries and we expect these additions to happen in the ensuing months".
A work in process, for sure. But we hope that you will find the new site will help to keep you better informed and give you more enjoyment out of your wines.
