How to get a broken cork out of the bottle

Sometimes corks break. When it splits in two, to get the bottom half of the cork out of the bottle, push the remaining cork into the bottle, tie a big knot in a piece of thick string, stuff it into the bottle past the cork, and pull firmly. The knot will force the cork to sqeeze out.
