Wine label secrets: How to choose a good wine!
One question we always get ask is about labels; are there any secret clues on a bottle label to tell if you it's a good wine? The answer is yes!
Generally, the more specific the place name, the better the wine. For example, a bottle labelled "Woori Yallock, Yarra Valley, Australia" is often a better bet than one that just says "South Eastern Australia". Why? When a region is more narrowly defined, it's less likely that grapes from good and poor vineyards/ areas will be included. This also applies to European wines where appellation wine regulations are mandatory.
