Wine Stains and Removal
Ok there are a few hints and tips here. For light stains i.e furniture or clothes I recommend white wine on red wine stains. 'Saxa' salt (1 tablespoon) works on mild red wine stains. Soda water works as well.
For particularly difficult stains Mr. Muscle (Window and Glass) comes to the rescue! Try it on larger carpet stains, porous woods, or walls. Use about 1/4 of a cup depending on the size of the spill however be careful not to use too much of the stuff. It will foam up as you work it into the stain. Spray enough to bleach the stain away, you'll literally see it disappearing before your very eyes, and then mop up with a damp cloth (with plenty of clean water to rinse, as you go).
In four easy steps:
- Soak up the worst of the spill with a thick wad of paper towels.
- Spray the stain with window cleaner.
-
Soak up the bleached stain with a damp cloth, rinsing with clean tepid water.
- Don't use hair dryers or mop excess water. This will set and spread the stain.
