Chateau Roquefort 2006 Sauvignon-Semillon
My trip to Bordeaux last year yielded a number of wine styles that I was taken by.
The Bordeaux Blanc is a style that is forgotten to some extent in this country but once revisited extends a whole new meaning to Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.
Chateau Roquefort 2006 Sauvignon-Semillon ($29.95)
From the Lugasson area, this is a smart, well-rounded wine. Opens with the exotic scent of rambutans, green papaya and honeysuckle. The palate is different with a strong line of straw/hay and acidity.
Not so fruity as textural (very French) which makes it perfect for the table.
