Whisky Masterclass

Learn more about and sample  Scotland’s gift to the worldFinding the Perfect Dram
Scotch whisky comes in several forms. The main ones are single malts, as well as vatted malts, which are blends of different single malts in one bottle, blended whiskies, being a mix of single malts and grain whiskies, and whiskies that are distilled from grain only. All in all, there are literally hundreds of Scotch whiskies. To find the one you like best could take years and years. In this two hour master class we will look at oak maturation and clearly see what happens to the whisky over time, focusing on the question, does age matter? We'll cover off ageing techniques and the history of the whisky along with a tasting of the following:
  • Tullibardine 1993 (10 years old)
  • Glen  Garioch (15 years old)
  • Longrow (7 years old) Gaja Barolo
  • Adelphi Bunnahabhain (9 years old)
  • Berry Bros Caol Ila (24 years old)

Scotch Malt Whisky is the quintessential drink of Scotland , enjoyed throughout the world;  a golden thread that runs through Scottish history and sums up the land and its people. This is an opportunity to join Luke Campbell (Aficionado) for an insight, a “Sippers” guide to great Whisky!  Not only is it impossible to replicate outside this small, often damp and chilly northern kingdom  and this has been tried, - but it relocates us to its birthplace with every sip.   Peat-smoke and bog-myrtle, heather flowers and mown hay, white beaches and salt spray: the scents of an island itself.
