Barnaut Bouzy Rouge Coteaux Champenois 2012
Interest in the still wines of Champagne is on the increase. This
is a great example, made from Bouzy-grown Pinot Noir. Youngest
vines are 35 years old.
Entirely composed of Pinot Noir, the bunches are harvested manually from vines perfectly exposed on the mid-slope, Only the sunniest vintages allow the development of this rarity. 'Bled' to increase the fraction of flesh and skin, the must undergoes a long maceration (more than 10 days) to obtain a complete, structured and ready-to-age wine.
Intense ruby red colour. Rpe red and black fruits, morello cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, slightly woody despite the absence of barrels. On the palate, rich, both lively and well coated, fine tannins both present and discreet.
