Barnaut Grande Reserve Grand Cru NV (6 x 750ml)
A blend of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/2 Chardonnay from Bouzy.
"With its ripe Pinot Noir and immediately attractive richness, this Champagne is delicious. It has density as well as rich berry flavors and a touch of maturity that has smoothed wine."

"Philippe Seconde's non-vintage bottling of Grande Reserve is composed from its customary blend of two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay, with the reserve wines in the blend hailing from a perpetual cuvee started by the family fully five generations ago! The vins clairs are aged in stainless steel and undergo full malolactic fermentation and the wine was finished with a dosage of six grams per litre. The wine delivers a beautifully refined and complex, aromatic constellation of apple, nectarine, a gorgeous base of soil tones, fresh-baked bread and a discreetly floral topnote that hints at lavender. On the palate, the wine is deep, full bodied and complex, with a good core, elegant mousse and a long, well-balanced and nicely mature finish. The large percentage of reserve wines from the domaine's solera gives this excellent drinkability right out of the blocks."
John Gilman, View from the Cellar
"Ripe, creamy, mid-mature nose, elegant and quite stylish, well made base wine, honey and toffee. Smoky Pinot, very pretty, good acid backbone. Up to 5 years. 16 points (Bollinger 15.6, Veuve 15.25, Pol Roger 15.2, and Taittinger 15.2)"
Decanter Magazine
"Here's a champagne for those who want to buy something that will give pleasure to the most discerning drinker (I liked it so much I ignored the bottle of Roederer in the fridge and served it to two professionals who walloped it down) but does not involve crossing the Channel and doing battle with H M Customs."

"Wonderfully chatty nose, fantastic bready hints with apples and spices, pure lemon fruit and fine, delicate length."
17/20, Richard Hemming MW, jancisrobinson.com
"Like Bollinger, this is made with around two thirds pinot noir, which gives it a firm structure and undertones of spice, toast and cherry compote. A serious champagne with a sappy uplift - at a bargain price."
Victoria Moore, Daily Telegraph (UK)
"The NV Brut Grand Cru Grande Reserve is showing nicely, unwinding in the glass with scents of pear, honeycomb, buttered toast and mandarin orange. Medium to full-bodied, bright and pillowy, with racy acids and a youthfully frothy mousse, it will make for a fine aperitif."
William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (March 2021)
"The NV Brut Grande Reserve Grand Cru is soft, open-knit and inviting, all qualities that make it hugely rewarding to drink now. Pear, baked apple, brioche and spice overtones give the wine its racy, inviting personality. Rich and vinous on the palate, yet refreshing, this mid-weight Champagne has a lot to offer."
