Bright ruby red in appearance.  Alluring and immediately complex nose of cassis, dusty herbs, freshly tilled earth and tobacco - very Cabernet!   Medium bodied, savoury in profile befitting this noble grape variety, hints of cherry, sour plum and blackcurrant.  Earthy notes and hints of lead pencil/graphite lend interest.  Unobtrusive, slightly chalky tannins lend structure.  Would be great with hearty fare such as lamb chops, bangers and mash or shepherd's pie.
