Yes this is serious wine, although I'll forgive you for gulping it down. It's so damn tasty. Tannins make a significant impression, though so powdery they're almost indefinable. Hints of rhubarb and red earth emerge, finishing with savoury tree bark and cumin spice. This is the kind of wine that disappears quickly, yet it's worth pausing to sip and savour, as there is clear artistry in its making. Drink now, or cellar for another 2-3 years further. A lovely partner for pork sui mai dumplings."

"A delicate wine here, so fine and lacy, with poached strawberry, spice, a spearmint freshness, a patina of old leaf and polished wood, a crisp and spicy red-fruited succulence, a light emery board grip to tannin, and a sappy blood orange tang. A raspberry and cinnamon-laced white pepper finish closing with a distinctly steely and cool rain-washed edge. Such a lovely wine. A delight."
