Henri & Gilles Buisson St Romain Blanc Sous Le Chateau 2023 (3 x 750ml)
Facing south/southeast, this plot, located below the ruins of an old
castle at 370 meters on the hillside, basks generously in the sun's rays.
The vines thrive as their roots develop in the very shallow, hard
limestone soil, drawing sustenance from between the fissures. This
Saint-Romain "Sous Le Château" is therefore the result of a subtle
harmony between the sun-drenched climate and the rustic nature of its
soil: a powerful, structured wine, rich and full-bodied. The warm palate,
with aromas of apricot, peach, and spicy, mineral notes, will develop
delightful aromas of white truffle if cellared for 8 to 10 years.

"Mid lemon yellow, showing a very reductive nose with a touch of
liquorice. The reduction is less evident on the palate. A lovely
intensity throughout, a light creaminess, obviously this will be cleaned
up later on but I suspect this is going to be brilliant. Drink from
2027-2032. Tasted Oct 2024."
5 stars, Jasper Morris MW - Inside Burgundy
"The 2023 Saint-Romain Sous Le Château has a slightly richer
bouquet with more yellow fruit and brioche notes than other cuvées.
Hints of custard creams and almond shavings appear with aeration. The
palate is well balanced, tensile and fresh with a fine bead of acidity
delivering ample salinity on the finish that lingers on the aftertaste.
This is superb and seductive-and only a Village Cru!"
