Blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvedre (10%).
Mid-ruby in appearance. Alluring nose of kirsch, freshly ground
pepper, lavender and exotic Asian spices. Dry, medium bodied, round
and supple. Plenty of flavour, yet not too heave.
Melange of forest fruit entwined with spice and typical Provence
'garrigue' (rosemary, bay). Delicious now and will drink well for
at least another couple of years.
Armadale Cellars tasting note
"Dark, full red robe; the bouquet comes off the garrigue, has dried
herbs, with black cherry, Morello, fruiting, hints of licorice. The
palate gives a succulent run of scented mixed berry fruits with ease in
the tannins. It feels like the harvest has been much sorted to achieve
this degree of unison in the wine. There is sufficient juice for it to
accompany a leg of lamb very well, and the aftertaste has pockets of
fruits that please, too. It's nice and genuine."
