Deep crimson in appearance. Alluring nose of dark berry
fruit (blackberry, dark cherry, Satsuma plum intermingled with woodsmoke,
notes of toasted spices and tilled earth. In the mouth the
wine is full bodied, but in no way heavy. It literally
caresses the tongue. This is a wine that has the feel, shape
and flavour of high quality Shiraz; tremendous fruit intensity and depth
of flavour without being over the top. Tannins are ripe and superfine.
Lovely natural acidity (a feature of good Heathcote Shiraz) provides
freshness. Drinking well now and will continue to develop more
complexity over the next several years.
