Symons Georgica Pinot Noir 2023 (6 x 750ml)
The Georgica vineyard is the 'The Jewel in the Crown'; a special site in
Red Hill. It sits at approximately 180-200m ASL. The vineyard
was planted in 1998 MV6 clones. It is a north-east facing, steep
site on the red basalt volcanic soils that Red Hill is named after.
Handpicked fruit was de-stemmed and cold-soaked for a week before
fermentation with minuscule, judicious whole bunches selection. After a
slow fermentation, the wine was pressed to puncheons and barriques (20%
new) before being racked and bottled in February 2024. 49 dozen
bottles made.
The cooler finish to the growing season in Red Hill specifically has
enhanced the delicate, lifted aromas of wild strawberry, rose petals and
subtle spice for which Red Hill is famous.
