Tony Bish Heartwood Chardonnay 2020

"Subtle, intriguing nose.  Racy and particularly lively on the palate.  Really delicate and appetising with more than a suggestion of Chablis about it.  This would make a great aperitif.  Just a hint of wet stones!  Admirable long."
17/20, Jancis Robinson MW

"Tasted over two days.  Day two is when this wine starts to really tell its story showcasing aromas of ripe grapefruit and yellow orchard fruits, a baking spice and creamy custard layer, noticeable complexity with synergies from baking spices and fruits, shape and texture surrounds the bouquet with a mineral stone - like core. On the palate - an immediate satin mouthfeel is contrasted by the youthful bite of oak and some of its fine tannins. Medium acidity accentuates the citrus, apple and yellow orchard fruit flavours. Curiously complex, detailed, youthful and lengthy. A really lovely wine with longevity on its side as well as early drinking. Best drinking from early 2021 through 2025+."
94 Points + Excellent, Cam Douglas MS

"This is splendidly fruited and seductively complex on the nose showing golden peach, fresh fig, vanilla and roasted hazelnut characters. It's concentrated and richly textured on the palate, displaying excellent weight and beautifully layered mouthfeel, finishing impressively long and delectable. At its best: now to 2026."
5 stars + 95 points, Sam Kim - Wine Orbit

"Barrel-fermented Mendoza clone chardonnay that's predictably rich with plenty of weight and generous peach and spicy oak flavours. An assertive and appealing wine with an impressively lingering finish."
94 points, Bob Campbell MW
