($27.50 per bottle - $165 per six-pack)
14.7% Alc. - 77% Shiraz, 12% Malbec, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark red purple in colour. Generous raspberry, blood plums, chocolate
and charcuterie appear on the nose. Expressive from the outset. The
palate is unctuous. Wild cherries, cocoa, pomegranate, with hints of
cured meats and earth. There is a whole lot going on here, with a mineral
element binding it together. This release is beautifully poised and
balanced, nothing over the top. This wine leaves you wanting a bigger
glass with richness carrying the fruit across the palate from start to
finish. Matured in older oak barriques, hogsheads, puncheons, French oak
and concrete vats for 23 months. Best consumed whenever thirsty between
now and 2030.
Winery tasting note
High quality Heathcote Shiraz lent extra depth, complexity and muscle
through judicious blending with Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Matured for 22 months in seasoned oak hogsheads. Full bodied and
concentrated with exotic florals and black cherry. Enjoy now and
over the next few years.
